New Facility Updates
Exciting changes are coming for your veterinary team!
What’s Coming?
To kick off 2023, our team will be merging with our trusted sister clinics, Advanced Animal Hospital and Abbey East Animal Hospital. This merge will be the first step toward our opening a brand-new, state-of-the art facility early next year! With the move, we will be able to provide clients with extended appointment availability, triple the staff to care for and love on your best friend, as well as additional services.
How does this affect clients and patients?
In preparation for the grand opening of our new facility, we have temporarily moved to Advanced Animal Hospital, located at 43065 Mound Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48314. We will continue to provide the same services during current business hours while operating out of our temporary location.
Additional Details
The team at MVA cannot wait to share this exciting experience with you all! We thank you for your ongoing support over the years and your patience throughout this process.

Meet the Advanced Animal Hospital Doctors
Dr. Benjamin Wilson
Hi, I’m Dr. Wilson. I joined the team at Advanced Animal Hospital in August of 2011. I graduated in 2006 from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and attended the University of Michigan – Dearborn for undergraduate education. I enjoy all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, but my special interests include veterinary dentistry and ophthalmology. My wife (who is also a veterinarian) and I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named “Cedar,” as well as a reef aquarium with numerous invertebrates and three fish named “George,” “Bridget,” and “Fiona.” In my spare time, I enjoy photography, fishing, camping, reading, and traveling.
Dr. Rachel Wirgau
Dr. Rachel joined the Advanced Animal Hospital team in July of 2019. She earned her undergrad and her masters at Washington State University before earning her doctorate from Ross University School of Medicine in 2018. She loves seeing the variety of cases that come with being a veterinarian along with all the different breeds. Her special interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and nutrition.
Dr. Rachel spends her free time with her husband and fur kids. She has two cats, Raphie (14) and Mario (11) as well as a 12-year-old beagle, Amaretto and a 7-year-old beagle/King Charles spaniel mix Athena. Both of her dogs are certified therapy dogs. She also enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, and reading.
